SPOOKY
A young child feels disconnected from her parents and drawn into themselves and technology, until an unexpected house guest shakes up their routine.
‘Spooky’ is the story of a young girl and her family reconnecting again with the help of an unexpected house guest. Kemi is a Nigerian-Irish 13 year old that one day finds herself rescuing and adopting a lost Bat called Spooky. With technology and other responsibilities (like work and preparing for a new family member) taking over her parent's lives Kemi sees a certain amount of herself in this lost and disorientated creature, forming a special bond with them. In turn, Spooky helps Kemi feel less alone and reminds her parents how important making
time to be reassuring and present for the people you love is. The short closes as Spooky finds their family and Kemi feels she’s rediscovered hers.
